Players must read, understand, and agree to the following rules prior to registering. If anything is unclear, reach out to us. These rules are subject to change—if that happens, it will be announced on the Instagram.

Last updated Sunday, March 29.

REGISTRATION

Registration has now closed.

  • Late registration was available during Round 1. The cost was $10. It was due Saturday, March 28 at 11:59 p.m.
  • Original Entry Fee: $6
    • Registration was due Friday, March 20 at 11:59 p.m.
    • We cannot guarantee a refund for issues such as:
      • Ineligibility due to incorrect school or grade (must be a BHSN senior)
      • Necessary information not completed on checkout form, such as Instagram username
  • First targets were assigned before Sunday, March 22 (Sunday before school resumes after break).
  • Participants: Only seniors enrolled at BHSN are eligible to play. We will check this.

GAMEPLAY

  • This game is not affiliated with Bloomington High School North or the Monroe County Community School Corporation. “Admin” in this document refers to game admin, who establish rules and make decisions regarding the game, not school or district administrators. Any violations of school rules or laws are the sole responsibility of student participants, and will also result in permanent elimination from the game.
  • At the beginning of each week (Sunday), each player will receive another senior as their “target.” These will be communicated through Instagram DM. Targets will be assigned using a random algorithm.
  • Players have until Saturday at 11:59 p.m. each week to eliminate their target using a water gun.
  • Proof Requirement: To confirm an elimination, players must send both a photo AND video proof to the official @BHSNAssassin Instagram account via direct messages.
    • If the video does not clearly show the elimination, it does not count.
    • It is advised to submit photos/videos as soon as the elimination occurs.
    • All submissions must be received before Saturday at 11:59 PM. Failure to submit will result in elimination, regardless of the target’s status. No exceptions will be made.
    • We will create an Instagram group chat with both players after an elimination has occurred to confirm.
  • If you are eliminated by your target or fail to eliminate your target by the end of the week, you are out. To advance to the next round, you must get your target out AND survive the round.
  • As soon as you are eliminated, you are effectively out of the game. You may not eliminate your target after you’ve been eliminated.
  • Buy backs are available beginning after Round 1 and before Round 5. Each player is allowed to buy back twice. Price will increase +$10 per round.
    • Buy back price schedule: during Round 1: $10; during Round 2: $20; during Round 3: $30
    • Buy backs are not available to players who were permanently eliminated by game admin.
    • The buy back must be purchased during the round you were eliminated (i.e. no waiting a week before buying back).
    • Players who registered late, during Round 1, have effectively used one of their buy backs, and have only one remaining.
  • The last two players standing will receive a cash prize, comprised of the entire pool collected: 1st place will receive 75%, 2nd place will receive 25%.

ELIMINATING YOUR TARGET

Please use common sense here. Be respectful of the people and places around you.

Eliminations are NOT allowed:

  • Inside the BHSN building at any time, or anywhere on BHSN property EXCEPT in parking lots between 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. Monday through Friday. Both players must be in the parking lot.
  • During any BHSN events: clubs, sports games and practices, events, etc., regardless of location.
  • Inside someone’s house or on someone’s property (yard, driveway, etc.) unless you have permission from a resident. If police get involved, you will be permanently eliminated.
  • At Bradford Woods.
  • Any religious sanctuary.
  • While someone is actively driving (including shooting through their window). You may eliminate them if they are fully parked with the engine turned off, but not at traffic lights. Any vehicles must be in park with the ignition off.
  • Places of work, while someone is on the clock and/or actively working. This includes internships and cadet teaching. If someone is leaving work and clearly off the clock, they may be eliminated.

Athletics:

  • Eliminations cannot take place during someone’s North team practice, no matter where it is.
  • Eliminations cannot occur while an athlete is at an away school for a game. This includes getting off the bus, during the game, and getting back on the bus at an away school. Once they’re back at North, though, they can be eliminated in a BHSN parking lot.
  • Eliminations can occur after a North team practice, but not before.
    • Example: You can eliminate someone walking from practice to their car.
  • Eliminations are allowed for non-North athletic practices, such as a club or travel team.

Public places and businesses are allowed for eliminations, but please be respectful and avoid causing disturbances. Use common sense.

Clarification: If you are unsure whether a location or situation is acceptable for elimination, DM the account first and ask! We’re here to help you. Additionally, if you have an event or will be somewhere and are worried about if you can be eliminated, ask us!

DEFENSE RULES

To protect yourself from being eliminated, you may wear protection: floaties and goggles.

  • To be considered valid protection: floaties must be inflated and visibly worn one on each arm, and goggles must be worn on your eyes.
    • The only exception for goggles is if you are wearing prescription glasses; sunglasses do not count. Those who wear glasses should instead wear goggles on their forehead.
    • If you’d prefer to wear a larger, inflated floaty around your waist, you may do that instead of the two on each arm. Again, must be visible.
  • You cannot eliminate your target while wearing floaties or goggles. If you attempt an elimination while wearing them, it does not count.
  • You cannot eliminate your target if they are wearing inflated floaties and goggles.

WATER GUN RULES

  • Your water gun must be colorful and obviously a toy.
  • No dark or metallic colors are allowed to ensure safety.
  • If the gun does not meet these requirements, you will be permanently eliminated with no questions asked.

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • All players must read, sign, and abide by the waiver to participate.
  • Any dangerous actions will be reviewed by game admin, who are non-playing students, and can result in elimination from the game.
  • The admin reserve the right to remove any player whose actions threaten safety.
  • Players kicked out by admin due to unsafe actions cannot re-enter the game.

PURGES

Purges are not guaranteed each round.

  • If you are still in the game during the round, but haven’t eliminated your target, the purge is your chance.
  • Purge rules apply to all legal locations, but we will suggest one location to help players find each other. Do not shoot people who aren’t players—let’s not disrupt other people’s peaceful days!
  • Location rules still apply.
  • Protection is ineffective during the purge.
  • You can eliminate anyone in the game.
